Hurstwood Park Department of Clinical Neurophysiology is looking to recruit motivated, pro-active Bank Clinical Physiologists to join our busy team providing extensive services to a large population in the South East. We are a progressive, expanding department, primarily based in the regional neurosciences centre in Haywards Heath, with a satellite unit at Southlands Hospital, Shoreham.  Plans to accommodate neurosciences within a £420 million hospital development in Brighton by the end of 2020 are well underway, which will see a three-fold increase in the size and capacity of the department and will include a number of satellite units. 

We provide a comprehensive and responsive investigative neurophysiological service 7 days a week to patients of all ages across a large range of specialities, working particularly closely with Neurology, Neurosurgery and Paediatrics. Investigations performed include EEG (Routine, Ambulatory, Video Telemetry, Sleep deprived, MLST, Melatonin and Portable), Nerve Conduction Studies (technician led CTS clinics) and a full Evoked Potential service, including ophthalmological studies such as ERG and EOG.  Development of an interoperative monitoring service is currently under consideration. 

Candidates will be competent practitioners who are able to meet the criteria of the Band 7 person specification. We are looking for experienced Highly Specialised Clinical Physiologists who are able to provide flexible working, particularly over the next 8 months to cover maternity leave.  The successful applicant will be a dedicated and enthusiastic team player willing to apply themselves to this interesting and often challenging role. 

  • Posts in the Trust are subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Criminal Records Bureau to check for any previous criminal spent and unspent convictions, reprimands, and cautions.
  • Appointment to this role will commence at the lowest salary point unless confirmed otherwise by HR Employment Services (Recruitment, Administration & Terms and Conditions)
