Frontier Pathology is a joint venture between Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (SaSH) and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust (BSUH). We are an innovative partnership of NHS pathology services, established to secure and develop pathology services for clinicians and their patients in Brighton, Surrey and Sussex.  We provide pathology services in a wide variety of settings, serving our founding Trusts, other NHS and private hospitals and primary care organisations.

The Microbiology Department at BSUH receives over 650,000 specimens per year and undertakes all routine microbiology procedures including specimen analysis, results interpretation and report generation.

We require a Senior Medical Laboratory Assistant who will primarily oversee the laboratory area and its medical laboratory assistant functions; prioritising resources to effect a smooth transition of samples through the laboratory. This position would suit a Medical Laboratory Assistant who has experience of a clinical laboratory department and an understanding ISO 15189 and continual improvement.

The successful applicant must be conscientious, enthusiastic and able to liaise confidently with colleagues within the department and beyond.

This post is primarily based at Royal Sussex County Hospital and the successful applicant will be expected to work and attend meetings across all sites of Frontier Pathology if required.

This vacancy is only open to current employees of Brighton and Sussex University Hospital NHS Trust (BSUH) and Surrey and Sussex Healthcare (NHS)Trust (SaSH).
